Sri Lanka vs Oman: Sri Lanka has continued its amazing performance in the T20 World Cup 2026. In its second match, Sri Lanka defeated Oman by 105 runs. This is the biggest win of any team in terms of runs in this T20 World Cup. Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 225 runs in 20 overs. In reply, Oman's team could score only 120 runs. Three batsmen scored half-centuries for Sri Lanka in the match. Kusal Mendis played an inning of 61 runs. Pawan Ratnayake played an inning of 60 runs in 28 balls. Whereas Dasun Shanaka made an important contribution to the team's victory by scoring 50 runs in just 20 balls.

The special thing about this victory of Sri Lanka is that it has won the match by a margin of more than 100 runs for the second time in the T20 World Cup. Before this, it had defeated Kenya by 172 runs in the year 2007. Sri Lanka has registered a victory of more than 100 runs in the T20 World Cup after 19 years. The interesting thing is that India has never won the T20 World Cup by 100 or more runs.

Oman won the coin toss and invited Sri Lanka to bat first. The Sri Lankan team had a bad start. Kamil Mishara was out after scoring just 8 runs. Pathum Nissanka could also score only 13 runs. After this, three consecutive batsmen broke Oman's hopes by scoring half-centuries. Kusal Mendis scored 61 runs in 45 balls. Pawan Ratnayake scored a half-century in just 24 balls, and was given the Player of the Match award. Dasun Shanaka scored the fastest T20 World Cup half-century for Sri Lanka by scoring a half-century in 19 balls.
After this the Sri Lankan bowlers did not give any chance to Oman. Sri Lanka lost three wickets of Oman in the first 6 overs. Mohammad Nadeem played an inning of 53 runs in 56 balls. Apart from him, no batsman from Oman played. Captain Jatinder Singh scored 1 run. Hamad Mirza scored 9 runs, Vinayak Shukla scored 1 run. Sri Lankan bowlers Dushmantha Chameera and Mahish Teekshana took 2-2 wickets. Dunith Velalage took 1 wicket, Dushan Hemanta and Kamindu Mendis also took 1 wicket each.
