In the Budget 2026-27, the UP government has made a big provision to strengthen civil aviation and road transport. Jewar airport, airstrips, EV buses, charging stations and road safety schemes will accelerate connectivity and development.

Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh government has taken concrete steps to strengthen the civil aviation sector in the Budget 2026-27. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna in his budget speech announced a provision of Rs 2,111 crore for the development of this sector. With this amount, new development work and construction of airstrips at Jewar Airport and other airports of the state will be accelerated.

Special focus on expansion of Jewar International Airport

A provision of Rs 750 crore has been made for new construction works in the state's ambitious Jewar International Airport. This airport is being developed on PPP model and the work of its first phase is progressing rapidly. The state government has decided to increase the number of proposed runways here from two to five. Along with this, work is also being done to develop Jewar Airport as an Aviation Innovation and Research Centre, as well as a Maintenance and Operation Hub.

Air connectivity will get expanded in the state

A provision of Rs 1,100 crore has been made in the budget for construction, expansion, strengthening and land acquisition of airstrips across the state. Through this, regional air services will be strengthened and under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS/UDAN), remote areas of the state will also be connected to the air network.

Promotion of road transport and EV buses

In Budget 2026-27, special emphasis has been laid on making road transport modern and environment-friendly. Under this, approval of Rs 400 crore has been given for the purchase of electric buses. Also, a provision of Rs 50 crore has been made for setting up charging stations at bus stands, which will provide a strong base to EV transportation.

Construction of bus stands and emphasis on road safety

To further improve the transport infrastructure, Rs 150 crore has been allocated for construction of new bus stands. Apart from this, a provision of Rs 50 crore has been made under the Chief Minister Road Safety Vision Scheme to prevent road accidents and ensure quick relief after the accident.

Connectivity and investment will get a boost

These budgetary provisions of the Yogi government are expected to give new impetus to the air and road transport infrastructure in the state. This will not only improve connectivity, but will also provide a massive boost to investment, employment and economic growth.
