OTT release details
Raakshasa will begin streaming on Zee5 from February 20. The makers confirmed the release date through an official update on Instagram, announcing it as North Karnataka’s first web series. Directed by Suhan Prasad, the show positions itself as an intense investigative drama rooted in the region’s landscape and culture. The caption added to the storyline, which read that in the village of Savadatti in North Karnataka, several bodies have been found following alleged crocodile attacks… Sub-Inspector Hanumappa is searching for answers, on the hunt for a demon.
At the centre of the story is Sub-Inspector Hanmappa, played by Vijay Raghavendra. He is tasked with investigating a string of suspected crocodile attacks near the Yellamma temple in Savadatti. What initially seems like a series of tragic accidents soon takes a disturbing turn when bloodied remains are discovered and rumours begin to circulate.
The two-minute trailer builds tension by revealing that several missing persons cases were earlier dismissed as crocodile attacks. As Hanmappa digs deeper, doubt begins to surface. Faith, superstition, and fear start influencing public perception, complicating the investigation. The deeper he goes, the more the case challenges not only his professional instincts but also his personal beliefs.
