This is India's biggest win so far in the T20 World Cup by margin of runs. Earlier, India had defeated England by 90 runs in the 2012 T20 World Cup.

This is Sri Lanka's second biggest win by margin of runs in T-20 International. This Group-B match was played at Pallekele International Stadium, Kandy. Oman won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Sri Lanka Batting Highlights: Huge score of 225 runs

Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 225 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs. For the team, Kusal Mendis scored 61 runs, Pawan Ratnayake scored 60 runs and captain Dasun Shanaka scored 50 runs. Shanaka completed his fifty in just 19 balls. This is the fastest half-century for Sri Lanka in T20 International. For Oman, Jiten Ramanandi took 2 wickets, while Jai Odedra and Sufiyan Mahmood got 1 wicket each.

Oman Batting Performance: Oman's innings ended at 120 runs

Chasing the target of 225 runs, Oman team could score only 120 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Mohammad Nadeem scored the highest 53 runs for Oman. Wasim Ali contributed 27 runs. But the rest of the batsmen could not make a big partnership. Vinayak Shukla and Sufiyan Mahmood were run out, which increased the pressure on the team.
