There's big news regarding teacher recruitment in Bihar (BPSC TRE 4.0). According to details shared by Satya Prakash Sharma, Secretary of the Bihar Public Service Commission, the Commission has received requisitions to fill 46,000 vacant teacher recruitment posts. A notification for recruitment will be issued soon. Applications for recruitment will begin in March 2026.

Recruitment Details
According to information received, requisitions have been received for a total of 44,500 teacher positions in classes 1 to 5, 6 to 8, 9 to 10, and 11 to 12 in schools run by the Education Department.

In addition, teachers and headmasters will be appointed in classes 1 to 5, 5 to 10, and 11 to 12 in schools run by the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department. 1,500 vacancies have been received for this purpose, bringing the total number of positions to over 46,000.

The One Candidate, One Result Rule Will Be Implemented
Until now, in TRE-1, TRE-2, and TRE-3, a single candidate could be selected for all three levels: primary, middle, and secondary. This resulted in multiple seats being allocated to a single candidate, while thousands of qualified candidates were excluded. Efforts are underway to address this shortcoming in TRE-4. A 35% reservation for women will remain in effect. However, the One Candidate, One Result rule will also apply to them.

It should be noted that three phases of recruitment have been completed by the BPSC so far. TRE-1 covered 1.70 lakh posts, and TRE-2 covered 70,000 teaching positions. Furthermore, TRE-3 covered 87,774 posts, of which 66,603 were filled. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official website for the latest recruitment updates.
