The Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is preparing to launch its new app soon. With this digital transformation, 80 million members across the country will be able to easily withdraw their provident fund and perform other tasks online through UPI. Reports suggest that the government may launch this new app in April 2026. This app will be part of EPFO ​​3.0, which will strengthen the digital public infrastructure. This will allow people to access EPFO ​​services with less paperwork.

What is EPFO ​​3.0?

According to the Press Information Bureau, EPFO ​​3.0 is the next step in the digitization of the Employees' Provident Fund Organization's services. However, EPFO ​​members already have access to features like online claim filing, e-nomination, and Aadhaar-based verification. The new EPFO ​​3.0 aims to streamline these online services even further.

According to emerging information about EPFO ​​3.0, the government aims to complete the online claim processing service in real time. It also aims to develop a better system for EPF member complaints. This initiative aims to offer members a better user experience. Furthermore, the EPFO's focus on the new platform is to reduce delays in the claim process. Additionally, EPFO ​​3.0 will also reduce the need for manual approvals for many routine tasks.

PF Withdrawals Through UPI
The next step in digitization in EPFO ​​3.0 is the ability to withdraw PF funds through UPI. Currently, PF funds are processed through standard bank transfers, which take several days. With UPI integration, it is expected that individuals will receive their PF funds instantly. With the UPI link, the EPFO ​​is shortening the old claim-filing process time.

According to official information, the option to withdraw money through UPI will initially be available only for partial withdrawals for medical emergencies, education, housing, and other purposes. Along with instant withdrawals, members will also be able to see the amount they can withdraw under each category in the EPFO ​​app. Currently, there is no further information available regarding the linking of UPI with EPFO.

Getting a Digital Life Certificate Will Be Easier
After the rollout of EPFO ​​3.0, EPF pensioners will easily obtain digital life certificates. The new platform will provide easy access to life certificates, eliminating the need for them to search for them. Under this, an official will be sent to the pensioner's home to complete the digital life certificate process, using biometric authentication.

When Will It Launch
The launch of EPFO ​​3.0 is expected to take place by April 2026. Currently, the platform's stability and data security systems are being tested. Hopefully, it can start soon.
