Blessing Muzarabani claims 100th T20I scalp as Zimbabwe stun mighty Australia in T20 World Cup

New Delhi: Blessing Muzarabani proved to be the hero for Zimbabwe as the team stunned the mighty Australians in the T20 World Cup 2026 group clash on Friday. Muzarabani, who registered brilliant figures of 4 for 17 in the stipulated 4 overs, completed his 100 wickets in the shortest format of the game during Zimbabwe’s massive victory over the one-time champions (2021).

This was the second time in the history of the T20 World Cup that Zimbabwe defeated Australia rewriting history with a stunning victory. The first time they had beaten the side was in the inaugural edition way back in 2007. Chasing a modest total of 170 runs, Australia folded for 146 in 19,3 overs as Zimbabwe bowlers wrecked havoc on the Aussie batters.

Best bowling figures for ZIM in T20 WC match

Apart from Muzarabani who shined with the ball, Brad Evans also shined with three wickets to push Australia against the wall. The bowling figures registered by Muzarabani is the best bowling figures for Zimbabwe in a T20 World Cup match. This is also the second-best bowling figures against Australia in a T20 WC match behind 4/11 by R Ashwin in Mirpur in the 2014 edition.

By virtue of this record-setting victory, Zimbabwe also became the only team with a 100% win-record over Australia in the men’s T20 WC.
