India and Pakistan are preparing for a heated showdown in Colombo for the group stage of the 2026 T20 World Cup.
The match will take place in Premadasa stadium in Colombo on February 15.
The Asian giants will face other after the controversial boycott decision made by the Government of Pakistan earlier which was overturned.
Given the circumstances, the clash is setting up to be a high power event and fans from around the world are flocking towards Sri Lanka to watch it live.
Due to the igh demand of the match, the tourism in the city has skyrocketed as the hotel prices have surged.
President of Sri Lanka Inbound Tour Operators Nalin Jayasundera said, “Most fans are coming on all-inclusive packages that could be $1,500-$2000 or even higher depending on ticket, hotel, and flight prices.”
The game is said to houseful with an estimated 35,000 tickets sold.
As for hotel rooms near the stadium, the prices have gone up to $660 a night as compared to the usual price tag of $100-$150.
