PF Withdrawal Via UPI: Recently, EPFO subscribers received significant news, announcing that they no longer need to wait for weeks or go through lengthy paperwork to withdraw their PF funds. Instead, they will be able to transfer their PF funds directly to their bank accounts via UPI. To this end, the EPFO is preparing to launch a new dedicated mobile application in April 2026. This app will include a UPI payment gateway. Since this news, all EPFO subscribers have been eager for updates. Will they be able to withdraw PF funds via UPI from April 1?

New PF Withdrawal Process
For decades, withdrawing Provident Fund (PF) funds has been a stressful experience for salaried employees in India. This required lengthy forms, repeated visits to the EPFO office, manual verification, and weeks, sometimes even months, of waiting. However, if this facility is implemented, it will solve a major problem for people, and they will not face any problems related to EPF.

EPFO begins trial
EPFO has already begun a trial for this. Currently, it is being used on 100 dummy accounts to see where there is still room for improvement and to address technical glitches.

What features will be available in the EPFO app?
This EPFO app will offer several features. For example, with this new app, you will be able to withdraw your PF funds through UPI. You can see two types of balance amounts on the app. The first is 'Eligible Balance' and the second is 'Minimum Balance'. The 'Eligible Balance' is the amount that you can withdraw immediately from your PF account, and the 'Minimum Balance' is the 25 percent amount that you will be required to maintain in your PF account.
