Prince Abdul Mateen of Brunei and his wife, Yang Mulia Anisha Rosnah, have shared the first public photos of their newborn daughter just three days after her birth.
Their baby girl, Princess Zahra Mariam Bolkiah, was officially named by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah as Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Zahra Mariam Bolkiah, according to Borneo Bulletin.
She was born at 8:50 a.m. on Feb. 8 at JPMC Hospital.
National broadcaster RTB News earlier reported that Princess Anisha Rosnah safely gave birth to her first child.

After the announcement, 17 gun salutes were fired at Istana Nurul Iman, the Sultan’s main palace and residence of Prince Mateen’s family, according to U.K. newspaper Express.
The newborn princess is not in the line of succession as Brunei’s Constitution allows only males to inherit the throne. Prince Mateen, 34, is one of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah’s 10 children and is fifth in line to the throne.
In Oct. 2025, the couple announced the pregnancy on Instagram with a black-and-white photo and the caption: “And then there were three.”
The couple held a 10-day royal wedding in Jan. 2024 that drew international media coverage. Before his marriage, Prince Mateen was dubbed one of the world’s most eligible royal bachelors.
The birth of their first daughter marks a new milestone in the royal couple’s life as they enter parenthood after two years of marriage.
Prince Mateen is a polo enthusiast who has represented Brunei at the 2017 and 2019 SEA Games.
In 2016, Tatler magazine named him one of Asia’s most eligible bachelors.
Yang Mulia Anisha Rosnah is an entrepreneur in the cultural tourism sector and a graduate of the University of Bath in the U.K.
