An Indian techie has created an AI tool called "WhatsNot." It summarizes long WhatsApp messages without displaying blue ticks. The tool can also understand the sentiment of a message (important, angry, etc.), thereby revealing the boss's mood.

Nothing is impossible in this new era of technology. An Indian techie has found a solution for those who are fed up with the repeated messages from their boss on WhatsApp. This techie, who is also a developer, has shared this information through a post on Reddit. This tool provides relief to those professionals who are troubled by the constant WhatsApp messages from their boss. This project named 'WhatsNot' summarizes the messages without showing the blue tick. This unique tool, shared by the developer on Reddit's r/developersIndia forum, has gone viral among professionals.

Techie wrote that his boss often sends long messages on WhatsApp, and it's very difficult to open and read them each time. He found it tedious to open the message each time and didn't want the sender to know he'd read it. So, instead of muting notifications or ignoring the chat altogether, he decided to find a technological solution. To deal with long and mentally exhausting WhatsApp messages, Techie created a smart AI tool that shortens the message and helps read it without showing blue ticks.

What is the specialty of Whatsnot tool?

The most remarkable feature of this AI tool is that the sender will never know that the message has been read. Even after the message is read, the blue tick will not appear. This tool reads long WhatsApp messages and creates a short, clear, and understandable summary. This tool can also determine whether a message is important, sent by mistake, or sent in anger. This means it can easily understand the boss's mood.

How does Whatsnot work?

This tool reads WhatsApp messages through a dedicated system instead of opening them directly on the phone. When a new message arrives, the tool copies it and interprets it using AI. The tool is built on a Node.js service, which monitors incoming WhatsApp messages using an open-source library called Baileys. When a new message arrives, it is copied via a simple HTTP server and sent to a free Groq Large Language Model API. It then shortens the long message to create a simple summary. It then displays all this information on a small screen, allowing the user to view it without opening WhatsApp. Since the actual chat isn't opened, the sender doesn't know the message has been read, and no blue ticks appear. The device also has a touch sensor, allowing users to refresh or scroll through the long summary.

This is not a commercial product

At the same time, the developer has also clarified that this is not a commercial product, but a practical and slightly humorous way to deal with modern workplace communication.
