The national team will face Pakistan on Sunday because Sunil Gavaskar expects Keldeep Yadav to replace Arshdeep Singh who will miss the match. The defending champion home team won by 93 runs against Namibia on Thursday but Arshdeep Singh suffered from their batting attack. He did not complete his full quota of four overs either

“All our bowlers picked up wickets. Arshdeep did not complete his four overs while Shivam Dube bowled two and Hardik completed his quota. This hints that Kuldeep Yadav could replace Arshdeep against Pakistan.

“Sri Lanka pitches help spinners and India have history of playing three spinners. Gavaskar predicted Kuldeep would be part of the XI against Pakistan for their Colombo match according to his statement on Star Sports’ Amul Cricket Live.

The Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav operated his bowling system according to the requirements of the Pakistan match according to Gavaskar.

The first over of the match will be bowled by Hardik which indicates that Arshdeep will miss the upcoming game against Pakistan. Varun Chakaravarthy bowled only two overs and would have taken five or six wickets if he bowled his full four overs.

According to Varun he receives wickets whenever the team requires him to bowl. Axar Patel took two wickets in three overs, it’s a good sign,” he said.

The batter Sanju Samson who replaced the ill Abhishek Sharma suffers from his tendency to move back in the batting crease according to Gavaskar. Samson scored 22 runs from eight balls through three sixes before he got out.

“The technical issue that Sanju Samson needs to solve. He goes too deep in the crease and plays that flick shot. He needs to improve his batting skills against new ball bowling which he needs to work on as his first task. The Namibian team used their fielding positions to outsmart their opponents. The players created a fielding strategy that would lead to Simpson’s dismissal. He displayed good batting skills which allowed him to gain confidence in his abilities. If he plays the next match against Pakistan, he needs to spend more time at the crease,” he said.
