Prince William allegedly "never much liked" his uncle, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and wanted him "out of the picture" as soon as the first revelations about his and Jeffrey Epstein had emerged all those years ago, a new royal book has claimed. A new biography about the Prince and Princess of Wales sheds new light on how the heir to the British throne felt towards his uncle and what his stance was ever since the disastrous 2019 BBC Newsnight interview, six years before he was exiled for good from public life by King Charles.
In William and Catherine: The Intimate Inside Story, by the Mirror's royal editor Russell Myers, which will be released on February 26, it is alleged that William believed his uncle was a "stain on all the family" and that he should be kicked out to protect his and the monarchy's future. A source claimed: "Once you understand the fact that everything that happens in the here and now, affects everything in the future, William's future, it is very easy to put yourself in his shoes. He never much liked his uncle and wanted him out of the picture immediately before the rot further set in.
"William's view was that he [Andrew] got himself into the whole mess, so he should be left to his own devices to sort it out away from the family."
