Facebook New AI Tool: Meta has introduced several new artificial intelligence features on Facebook, aiming to make the platform more engaging and creative. These updates allow users to add movement to their profile photos, reinvent old stories and memories, and add animated backgrounds to text posts. Amidst growing social media competition, Meta is taking steps to make Facebook more visually appealing.
Profile Photos Will Now Be Animated
The most notable feature is that ordinary profile photos can now be converted into short animated clips. This eliminates the need to upload a separate video. Users can apply pre-defined motion effects to their normal photos, creating movement in the photo.
The company has provided different animation styles, such as Natural, Party Hat, Confetti, Wave, and Heart Effect. For best results, Meta recommends that the photo contain a single person, a clear face, and be forward-facing. More new styles are expected in the future.
Refresh Old Photos
Old photos shared in Facebook Stories and Memories can now be retouched with AI. By tapping the Restyle option, users can add their own custom changes or choose a pre-defined design theme. For example, a photo can be transformed into an anime look or a low-poly style. This will make it easy to give photos a new and different look without the need for external editing apps.
Text Posts Will Also Appear Differently
Not just photos, text posts can now be made more attractive. Tapping the A icon that appears while composing a post opens up a choice of different background designs. These include both static and animated backgrounds. This will make even simple text updates more prominent in the News Feed, especially when the majority of content consists of videos and photos.
Attempts to Revitalize Facebook
Meta has recently been pushing to revitalize Facebook. The company's focus is now on strengthening the experience based on friends and close connections. In this direction, features like the Friends-Only Feed were introduced, which prioritizes posts from friends over algorithm-driven content. New AI features are part of this strategy, which aims to provide a more creative and personalized experience for users.
