Aland: On the occasion of Shivaratri, special pooja was performed on Sunday to the Shivalinga at the samadhi of Sri Raghava Chaitanya located within the premises of the Ladle Mashak Dargah in Aland town of Kalaburagi district.

The issue regarding the pooja had earlier reached the Supreme Court level. Following court permission, 14 Hindu leaders peacefully performed Rudrabhisheka and Sahasra Bilvarchane rituals to the Shivalinga.

To prevent any untoward incidents, the taluk administration and police department imposed prohibitory orders and maintained strict security arrangements. Hundreds of police personnel were deployed, and check posts were set up for about four kilometres from the Kalaburagi highway to the entry points of Aland town.
