Rail commuters faced major disruption on Tuesday as all lines were blocked near Doncaster, with trains not able to run to, from or through the key station. The area was plunged into travel chaos on the afternoon of February 17, following a "gas leak", Northern Railway said.
The site, which announced cancellations to services at Doncaster, said shortly after 4.15pm: "Due to a gas leak near the railway at Doncaster all lines are blocked." Services between five routes were affected by the incident, Northern Railway also said. Doncaster station returned to be fully operational after 6.30pm.
