New Delhi. A new initiative has emerged in India towards strengthening health services through technology. An AI-based clinic model developed in the country aims to bring medical care to areas where lack of doctors and testing resources has been a long-standing challenge.
Reliance Jio has introduced an AI-based clinic model called ‘Jio Aarogya AI’, which aims to make the country’s primary health system faster, accessible and affordable. This initiative has been specially designed keeping in mind the rural and remote areas, where access to specialist doctors is limited.
AI Clinic Model for Primary Healthcare
‘Jio Aarogya AI’ is a smart system that can check the initial health signs of a patient in just a few minutes. It identifies potential risks by screening essential parameters. The aim of this model is to catch the disease in its early stages, so that treatment is not delayed and complications can be avoided.
Smart mirror and voice AI feature
The most special thing about this system is its AI-enabled diagnostic device, which is being called Smart Mirror. The patient can stand in front of this device and give health readings based on eyes, skin and other visual cues. AI analyzes these signals and creates a preliminary health assessment. Additionally, the Voice AI Doctor feature allows patients to voice their problems.
Priority to emergency cases
This AI model can divide patients into different categories according to their condition. Cases that require immediate medical attention are given priority. This may reduce the pressure on doctors for routine cases and allow them to focus more on serious patients.
Portable Probes and Connectivity
This model can be connected to digital networks. It is possible to install it where Internet is available. Portable medical devices such as ECG or X-ray units can also be connected to it. Apart from this, facilities like online consultation and digital prescription can also be included in it.
Will the rural health picture change?
Lack of resources at primary health centers is a major problem in many parts of India. If AI-based clinics are implemented on a large scale, they could bridge the gap between initial diagnosis and expert consultation. With the expansion of digital technology, such initiatives can give a new direction to the rural health system.
