Veteran Bollywood screenwriter Salim Khan, father of superstar Salman Khan, is currently admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. He was hospitalised after suffering a minor brain haemorrhage and underwent a Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) procedure on Wednesday.

Following the procedure, he was placed on ventilator support as a precautionary measure. According to doctors, he may be taken off the ventilator today if his condition continues to remain stable.

Neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange performed the DSA procedure, while Dr. Jalil Parkar informed the media that the procedure was successfully completed. “He is stable and has been shifted back to the ICU. The ventilator was used only as a precaution to prevent any complications,” he said.

In an official health update, Dr. Parkar clarified that the 90-year-old’s condition is not as critical as being portrayed on social media. He is responding well to treatment. The surgery conducted on Wednesday morning was successful, and doctors opted for ventilator support solely due to his advanced age to avoid further health risks. No decision has yet been taken regarding his discharge, and doctors will evaluate his reports before making a final call.

As soon as news of his hospitalisation broke, Salman Khan rushed to the hospital, leaving his shoot midway. Family members including Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan, Helen, and Alvira Khan were also present. Prominent film personalities such as Subhash Ghai, Javed Akhtar, and Sanjay Dutt visited the hospital to wish him a speedy recovery.

While the hospital has refrained from sharing further details out of respect for the family’s privacy, sources indicate that Salim Khan is now out of danger — bringing relief to his fans and well-wishers.
