In a bid to transform agriculture, the Yogi Adityanath government has launched a large-scale initiative to promote natural farming in Uttar Pradesh. Under this mission, natural farming has been introduced across 94,300 hectares in all 75 districts, with plans to expand to 1 lakh hectares in the near future.

A key focus of this initiative is Bundelkhand, where natural farming is being developed as a model for sustainable and profitable agriculture. The region is receiving special attention through targeted programs aimed at reducing dependency on chemicals and establishing eco-friendly farming systems.

The government has also introduced a special cow-based natural farming program across 23,500 hectares in Bundelkhand districts such as Jhansi, Lalitpur, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Banda, and Chitrakoot. This program is aimed at making agriculture more sustainable and profitable by promoting the use of organic methods.

Through the use of traditional farming techniques like Jeevamrit and Ghanjeevamrit, chemical fertilizers and pesticides will be reduced, leading to lower farming costs and increased farmer income. The Yogi government is focusing on farming models that ensure low-cost, high-return benefits for the farming community.

Shyam Bihari Gupta, Chairman of the Goseva Commission, highlighted that natural farming improves soil health, boosts water retention, and makes farming more sustainable in low-rainfall areas like Bundelkhand. He believes the initiative will be a game-changer for the regional agricultural economy.

The state government is also running extensive training programs to equip farmers with the knowledge and tools for natural farming. These initiatives aim to bring eco-friendly farming systems into the mainstream and make farmers more self-reliant.

The branding and promotion of natural products, alongside efforts to promote environment-friendly agriculture, will increase farmers’ incomes and contribute to better human health and environmental conservation. Gupta praised the Yogi government’s visionary policies, stating that Uttar Pradesh is rapidly moving towards becoming a natural farming hub, with Bundelkhand leading the transformation.
