The magic of the cup was on full display earlier this month, as League One outfit Mansfield Town produced a stunning 2-1 upset against Burnley. Although Josh Laurent put Scott Parker's team ahead early on, the encounter at Turf Moor proved to be a tale of contrasting halves.

Rhys Oates restored parity shortly after the restart, before Louis Reed clinched victory for the Stags with approximately 10 minutes remaining. Meanwhile, Macclesfield's impressive cup journey was brought to a halt by Brentford.

The National League side were deemed significant underdogs when the Eagles made the trip to Moss Rose on 10 January, considering Palace entered the fixture not only 117 positions above them in the English football pyramid, but also as the competition's reigning champions. Undeterred, the Silkmen delivered glory to Treacle Town courtesy of a 2-1 shock against Oliver Glasner's team, with strikes from Paul Dawson and Isaac Buckley-Ricketts overturning Yeremy Pino's late effort.

Any aspirations of progressing further in the competition were extinguished earlier this month, however, as Brentford emerged 1-0 victors in the fourth-round. As the lowest-ranked club still competing in the tournament, Mansfield face an uphill battle when they welcome Arsenal in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday, 7 March at 12.15pm.

Later that same day, attention will turn to the 5.45pm kick-off as an ambitious Wrexham take on Chelsea at the Racecourse Ground. Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have injected fresh life into the Red Dragons since assuming ownership of the club, guiding them from the National League right through to the Championship in just three seasons.

Currently, Wrexham are pursuing their fourth successive promotion to the Premier League, sitting seventh in the league table and well-positioned to secure a Play-Off spot. A meeting with Chelsea will provide them with a glimpse of what awaits in the top flight, should they prove successful in their campaign this season.
