Kerala Police on Thursday produced Mahesh alias Jayanna alias John (49), currently lodged in a Kerala prison, before the Beltangady court in connection with a 2012 case involving alleged circulation of Naxal pamphlets.
Mahesh is accused of pasting Naxal-related pamphlets in the courtyard of Lingappa Malekudi’s house at Kutlur, under Venoor Police Station limits, in 2012. He was brought to court following orders for reinvestigation of the case and was later taken back to jail after the hearing.
Sources said Mahesh had earlier surrendered before the Karnataka Chief Minister along with other alleged Naxal leaders. He has been lodged in Thrissur jail in Kerala for the past six months.
