From shopping to mobile recharge, online payments have made things easier for us. With the advancement of online payment services, money transactions have become much easier for us. We no longer have to visit banks or withdraw cash from ATMs.
Google Pay, Paytm, BHIM, and other apps are some of the best examples of online money transactions. However, there are times when our internet connection is down, and we need to make an urgent payment. In this situation, we have no other option but to use physical money. However, sometimes we don't even carry physical money with us. To address this situation, NPCI offers offline payments (without internet). This service was launched in 2022 and has since made online money transactions easier for those living in areas with poor or no internet service.
In this case, we will learn in detail how you can make offline payments even without internet. Here's a step-by-step guide:
The first step to making an offline payment is to dial the USSD code '*99#' from your smartphone.
You'll now see the 'OK' option along with 'Welcome to *99#' on your screen. Click on it.
You'll see several options on your screen, but you'll need to select 'Send Money'.
Select the Mobile Number option.
Enter the mobile number of the person you want to send money to.
The name of the person you want to send money to online will appear on your screen.
After this, enter the amount and enter your UPI PIN.
To make an online payment, make sure your mobile number and Aadhaar number are linked to your bank account.
