Cricket Association for the Blind in India: Taking a big step, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced to help the men's and women's teams of Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI). This decision is a big announcement of the board towards providing better opportunities to blind players. Let us tell you, the Indian women's blind cricket team had won the T20 World Cup title only last year. At the same time, the men's team has also won many world championships. But the Indian blind cricket team has not yet received recognition from BCCI. Due to which players have to face a lot of problems.
BCCI's big announcement for blind cricketers
Under this new initiative, BCCI will provide travel expenses to both the teams (men and women) to participate in two international tournaments every year. Apart from this, when the series will be organized in India, accommodation arrangements for the host and visiting teams will also be made by the board. Blind cricketers will get a chance to play in BCCI stadiums and grounds for domestic and international matches, which will provide them good facilities.
This support structure focuses on strengthening opportunities, infrastructure and international exposure for blind cricketers. BCCI President Mithun Manhas said, 'The achievements of India's blind cricketers are a source of pride for the cricket world. Through this structured support, BCCI aims to strengthen opportunities, infrastructure and identity for these players.
Blind cricketers get such low salary
In India, blind cricket and blind cricketers are lost in the darkness of anonymity. According to media reports, the players of the blind cricket team get only Rs 3,000 as match fee. This is the condition of not only the blind women's team, but also the blind men's team. All expenses are borne by the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) and some generous sponsors. But after this announcement by BCCI, not only the board but also the players will get help, which is no less than a dream for them.
