Businessmen will be happy in Holi, business can be worth Rs 8,00,00,00,00,00,000!

This time, the festival of colours, Holi, is bringing a big gift for the businessmen across the country. According to the Confederation of All India Traders (CAT), this year there is expected to be a huge business of more than Rs 80 thousand crore in the markets on Holi. This figure is about 25 percent more than last year's Rs 60 thousand crore.

Chinese products eliminated from the market

The impact of the Prime Minister's 'Vocal for Local' campaign is now clearly visible at the grassroots level and in the vibrancy of the markets. There was a time when Holi markets were completely occupied with Chinese pitchers and other items. But since the year 2021, the situation has changed rapidly and now the market is completely dominated by indigenous products.

Customers are now giving preference to natural colors, herbal gulal, sandalwood and puja materials made in India. Pichkaris, balloons and other items prepared by local artisans are being sold at random prices. Cottage industries and small traders are getting direct economic benefits from this. With the end of foreign dependence, happiness is clearly visible on the faces of local businessmen.

Huge demand for herbal colours, traditional clothes

People have now become very conscious about their health and skin. Due to this, there has been a tremendous increase in the demand for herbal and natural colors instead of chemical based colors. On the other hand, Pichkaris with famous characters like Spider-Man and Chhota Bheem remain the main center of attraction among children.

Apart from colours, huge growth has also been recorded in the apparel market. To play Holi, white T-shirts, traditional kurta-pajama and salwar-suits are being purchased extensively. T-shirts printed with the message 'Happy Holi' are also being purchased in large numbers. Along with clothes, sales of furnishing fabric and consumer durables have also gained momentum.

There is tremendous excitement in the markets of Delhi

In terms of business activities, maximum activity is being seen in the capital Delhi. According to Praveen Khandelwal, National General Secretary of CAT and MP from Chandni Chowk, there is an estimated business of Rs 15 thousand crore in Delhi alone. All the wholesale and retail markets of the city are packed with huge crowds of customers.

The demand for traditional Gujiya at sweet shops is skyrocketing. Gujiya garlands and packets of specially prepared dry fruits are being sold indiscriminately. Along with this, there are long queues of people for shopping at the shops of grocery, FMCG products, fruits, flowers and gift items.

Huge surge in service sector due to Holi Milan celebrations

Holi is not only a festival of colors but also a major festival of social interaction. At present, Holi Milan celebrations are being organized on a large scale across the country. More than three thousand such programs are being organized by various business, religious, cultural and social organizations in Delhi itself.

Due to these events, the service and hospitality sector is making huge profits. Banquet halls, farmhouses, big restaurants and public parks are almost completely booked. Let us tell you that Holika Dahan will be celebrated on 3rd March and Holi of colors will be played on 4th March.
