BAFTA 2026: Indian film 'Boong' wins first BAFTA award, 'One Battle After Another' and 'Sinners' dominate..

The 2026 BAFTA Awards were held in London late Sunday night. The Indian film "Boong" won the Best Film award in the Children's and Family Film category. Furthermore, "One Battle After Another" and "Sinners" dominated the BAFTAs this year. Leonardo DiCaprio's action thriller "One Battle After Another" won six awards, including Best Film. The American film "Sinners" and the horror story "Frankenstein" each won three. Jessie Buckley won Best Actress for "Hamnet," while Robert Aramayo won Best Actor for the British indie film "I Swear." "One Battle After Another" Hits a Sixer

Paul Thomas Anderson's political thriller "One Battle After Another" dominated the evening, winning six awards, including Best Film and Best Director. These awards included Best Film, Director, Adapted Screenplay, Cinematography, Acting, and Supporting Actor (Male). Sean Penn won the Best Supporting Actor award.

'Sinners' Makes History

Ryan Coogler's film "Sinners" followed closely behind, making BAFTA history by winning three awards. This is the most ever for a film by a Black filmmaker at the British Academy. Wunmi Mosaku won Best Supporting Actress for the film, while Ryan Coogler won Best Original Screenplay, becoming the first Black filmmaker to win in this category. "Sinners" also won three awards, including Best Original Screenplay. Kirk Jones's film "I Swear," a comedy-drama that raises awareness about Tourette syndrome, won three awards.
