The Kerala Story 2, sequel to the 2023 film, has sparked fresh controversy, with critics calling it 'propaganda.' At a Delhi press conference, the makers brought alleged victims on stage with the cast. One woman, Gauri, claimed she was drugged and forced to marry, saying, "Mujhe ek glass paani pilaya… mujhe drugs diye gaye. Phir maine suicide attempt bhi kiya."

Following the controversial path of its 2023 predecessor, is generating similar headlines by treading a trail many label as 'propaganda.'

Beyond the film itself, it is the reality behind the script that has shocked audiences. As controversies mount, the filmmakers held a press conference in Delhi, bringing several alleged victims from across the country onto the stage. It was here that one victim shared a harrowing account from Mumbai's Mahim Dargah, claiming she was drugged and forced into marriage.

Victim Reveals Being Drugged, Forced To Marry

She was heard saying, "The Kerala Story 1 & 2 bata raha ki love-jihad kya hai... Yeh sab sach hai, reality hai, koi story nahi hai... Mujhe ek glass paani pilaya, jo taste mein kadva rehta hai. Woh paani pilake mujhe drugs diye gaye. Phir maine suicide attempt bhi kiya, kyunki mujhe shaadi nahi karni thi. Mujhe apna career banana tha, uske baad hi shaadi karni thi []."

She further added, "2025 mein maine promise kiya tha ki shaadi karenge, phir bhi mujhe zabardasti drugs dekar, vashikaran karke, 7th December ko Bandra Court mein without permission, mujhe kuch bhi maloom nahi tha, convert karke mera nikaah kiya. Notary mein jaake mera naam Gauri se Palak kar diya, aur phir mujhe police station le gaye...[]"

Another victim also shared shocking details about the Mahim Dargah, alleging that many women, including her, were made to drink some water that left them unconscious. She added, "Phir mujhe ghar par le gaye, mere saath rape hua ()," stating that she was later blackmailed.

The Mahim Dargah has not yet responded to the allegations.

Producer On Why Film Named The Kerala Story 2

Producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah revealed why the film is titled The Kerala Story 2, even though it depicts the stories of victims from Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Kerala. He added that he stands by the survivors and that these are their real stories.

Vipul also denied claims that the film is 'propaganda,' asserting that the narratives are based on real accounts.

Starring Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia and Aishwarya Ojha, is scheduled to release in the theatres on February 27, 2026.
