The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, M. Beena, Development Commissioner for Handlooms, marking a significant moment for the handloom sector.
Pariskriti-2026 is being held from 22nd February to 28th February 2026 at the India International Centre, Max Mueller Marg, New Delhi. The exhibition is open daily from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM and is organized by the Weavers Service Centre, Delhi, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
The exhibition features 21 exclusive handloom stalls, primarily helmed by National Handloom Awardees who have travelled from across the country to showcase heritage techniques passed down through generations. The showcase represents diverse weaving traditions from different regions of India.
From the northern region, visitors can witness exquisite Kani shawls from Kashmir and traditional Pattu weaves from Rajasthan. The western region presents intricate Tangaliya and Patola products from Gujarat, hand spun and handwoven cotton shirts, along with timeless Sanganeri natural printed sarees and stoles.
Central India is represented by elegant Maheshwari and Chanderi sarees and stoles from Madhya Pradesh. From the eastern region and Uttar Pradesh, the exhibition showcases world-renowned Banarasi silk sarees from Varanasi and durable, handwoven Punja Durries from Mirzapur. The southern region features sophisticated Venkatgiri, Polavaram, double Ikat and Dupion Silk sarees from Andhra Pradesh, which are among the special attractions of the event.
The organizers stated that this exclusive event aims to provide a platform where authentic handwoven products can reach buyers without intermediaries. By hosting National Awardees, the exhibition ensures that visitors have access to the highest quality of craftsmanship, while supporting the “Vocal for Local” initiative and promoting the sustainable livelihood of handloom weavers.
