New Delhi: A very horrifying incident has come to light from the outer northern areas of the country’s capital Delhi. In Chandan Park area, a man brutally murdered his own wife and three innocent girls by slitting their throats with a sharp weapon. There is an atmosphere of panic in the entire area after this quadruple murder that took place on Tuesday night. The accused husband is absconding since the incident, in search of whom several police teams are conducting raids.

The incident took place in street number-3 located at Chandan Park in Siraspur. On the morning of Wednesday, February 25, Badli police station received information that four people had been murdered inside a house. When the police team reached the ground floor of house number 84/E, the scene there was soul-stirring. Inside the room, there was blood scattered on the floor and dead bodies of a woman and three small girls were lying there. Everyone’s throat was brutally cut with a sharp weapon.
The family was from Bihar, the accused used to work in Azadpur Mandi.
Initial police investigation has revealed that the deceased have been identified as Anita and her three daughters (aged 7 years, 5 years and 3 years). This family was originally from Bihar. The woman’s husband Munchun Kevat, who used to sell vegetables in Azadpur Mandi, is missing since the incident. The police suspect that Munchun has committed this heinous crime and has absconded.
“Has Didi come?”… Neighbors crying remembering the girls.
It is difficult for the neighbors to believe that the girls who were playing with them till yesterday are no longer in this world. Ruby, who lives in the neighbourhood, said, “When I used to come from duty at night, the girls would chirping and ask, ‘Didi has come? My children also used to play with her. In the morning, when we looked in the room, everyone’s throats were slit. We cannot understand what happened suddenly that Munchun destroyed his own laughing family.'”
The reason behind the murder is still a mystery, police registered a case
According to senior Delhi Police officials, the reason behind this mass murder is not yet clear. Was it a domestic dispute or some mental madness of the accused, it is being investigated. Police have registered a case of murder under section 103(1) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). The forensic team has collected evidence from the spot and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
Police siege to arrest the accused
Special teams of Delhi Police are keeping an eye on possible hideouts and railway stations in search of accused Munchun Kevat. The contacts of Azadpur Mandi and his native village are also being investigated. Delhi Police claims that the accused will be arrested soon. This incident has once again exposed the dreadful face of family violence in the capital.
