New customization feature in WhatsApp

WhatsApp is working towards providing a new experience to its Android users. The company is developing new tools to make the app more personalized, allowing users to change the color, icon and interface of the app as per their choice. Currently, this feature is in the testing phase in beta version and may be available to common users in the future.

color change option

WhatsApp will no longer be limited to just green color. According to reports, around 19 new color options will be added to the app which include Royal Blue, Violet, Coral, Teal, Brown, Beige, Yellow, Pink, Red, Orange, and Dark Olive Green. These colors will be applied to the app’s various tabs, filters, and floating buttons, giving the entire interface a uniform theme.

14 new icon styles

The biggest change in this update will be seen in the app’s icon, in which WhatsApp will bring 14 new icon styles. These include single-color designs like blue, brown, green, orange, pink and purple. Additionally, some icon styles will have eye-catching designs such as Aurora, Fluffy, Galaxy, Clay, Sparkle, and Neon. With this feature, users will be able to change the appearance of apps on their home screen without any third-party launcher.

When will this feature be available?

This feature is currently being tested in Android beta version 2.26.6.1. It is currently available only to developers and selected testers. Although the company has not made an official announcement, it is expected that this feature will become available to all users in the next update. If this happens, the WhatsApp experience will be even more personalized and enjoyable.

What will be the benefit to the users?

After this change, users will have the freedom to change the view of the app as per their choice. Be it colors or icons, the option to customize everything will be available. This will make using WhatsApp a more engaging and personalized experience.
