Train News: Millions of people travel by train every day in India. For passenger convenience and compliance with regulations, TTEs are deployed on trains. Their job is to check tickets and ensure that travel is conducted as per the rules. However, sometimes incidents occur where a TTE misbehaves with a passenger. At such times, many people panic and don't know where to complain.

No more delivery boys! Doorstep delivery using AI drones and robots begins in Gurugram; learn how to get your goods home.

What to do first?
If a TTE misbehaves with you, pushes you, uses abusive language, or tries to forcibly remove you from your seat, remain calm. Note the name and batch number on their uniform. This information will be very useful in filing a complaint. Also, remember the time of the incident, the coach number, and the seat number.

According to railway rules, if you have a confirmed ticket for a sleeper or AC coach, you cannot be forcibly removed from your seat. In such a situation, you are fully entitled to complain.

How to complain on the train?

Every Indian Railway train has a guard present. If you feel the TTE's behavior is inappropriate, you can approach the guard and file a written complaint. The guard maintains a complaint register, in which a complete description of the incident is recorded.

You can also contact the GRP or RPF personnel on the train. If no officer is available on the train at that time, you can also lodge a complaint after disembarking at the next station.

Contact these helpline numbers.
Indian Railways has issued helpline numbers for the convenience of passengers. For any complaints, such as TTE misbehavior or other issues, you can call 139. This is the general railway helpline number.

If the matter is related to security, you can contact 182. This number is for railway security matters.

The 'Rail Madad' app can also be used to file a complaint online. The status of the complaint made through this app can also be tracked later.

Complain about other matters as well.
If a passenger creates a ruckus while traveling after drinking, using abusive language, or playing loud music, a complaint can also be lodged through 139 or the Rail Madad app.

Passengers need to be aware of their rights. If you are treated unfairly, do not remain silent. Complain to the appropriate authority so that such incidents do not occur in the future.
