As the current series of Call The Midwife approaches its conclusion, withanxiety mounting over one cherished character's future, a familiar face will return to the period drama on Sunday evening (1st March).
BBC audiences will witness the Mullucks family back in Poplar, a decade after their devastating storyline played out during series five.
Back then, Rhoda was pregnant with her third child with partner Bernie and had been given medication prescribed by Dr Turner.
Yet when baby Susan arrived with severe deformities, it became clear to audiences that the programme was portraying the Thalidomide scandal, which affected more than 10,000 babies during that period.
Whilst the Mullucks have visited Poplar previously, featuring in the 2018 Christmas special, it appears they've returned once more, reports the Mirror.
Posting a series of photographs of young Susan from her forthcoming appearance this weekend and from her introduction a decade ago on Instagram, the programme hinted at what audiences can anticipate.
They wrote alongside the post: "Life for the Mullucks' went on - and we have returned every few years to see how this ordinary family has grown and coped - and how their stresses and pressures have ultimately shaped them.
"Susan is now nearly eleven years old - a pre-teen on the verge of wider Life. What will the future hold for her and her particular needs as her parents age?"
"And what of the other children? In all that necessary support for Susan, is there enough support left for their needs?"
It did not take long for responses to flood in beneath the post, with many expressing delight at Susan's forthcoming return to screens.
One viewer remarked, "These episodes always stuck with me. Such a heartbreaking story told so beautifully."
