Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has warned of an 'AI tsunami'. He says that AI will change the world faster than we think, but society is not ready for this big change.
ComeDario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, a big company in the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI), has given a big warning. He has named the coming threat as 'AI Tsunami'. He said these things in a podcast with well-known entrepreneur Nikhil Kamat. Amodei believes that AI is changing the world faster than society is expecting. But a large part of the world is still not ready to understand what is happening.
There is a lot of discussion these days about how AI will change jobs, industries, the economy and the balance of power. Amodei says that we are at a point where AI systems are not only doing easy tasks, but they are also starting to do difficult tasks that previously were considered to require deep human understanding. Amodei said that the impact of automation has started to be seen on technical areas like coding, mathematics and scientific research. AI models are now doing routine tasks better than humans, which humans used to do earlier. He said that this will bring major changes in the job market and business methods.
The CEO further said that the introduction of advanced AI systems will have a huge impact on the economy and the entire world. He said that the impact of this technology will not be limited to just one industry or sector, but it will also affect jobs, global markets and competition between countries. Investments in AI and related tools are already influencing stock prices and investors. Jobs that require empathy and interpersonal skills are likely to last longer. But AI will take over the mental work that is done repeatedly or in a fixed manner. He also said that coding could be one of the first areas that AI will take over.
