Indian Railways is preparing to discontinue the Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) app. Currently, it is used for booking unreserved tickets, platform passes, and season tickets. RailOne, the railway's new super app, will replace it, allowing booking of all types of tickets.
The UTS app will be discontinued by the railways from March 1st, preventing passengers from booking unreserved tickets, platform passes, and season tickets. Therefore, the railways have advised passengers to use the RailOne app for all ticket bookings. This app has already been launched.
Passengers do not need to create a new account to use the RailOne app. Users can sign up using their existing UTS and IRCTC logins.
The RailOne app is available on both Android and iOS.
The RailOne app is available on both Android and iOS and is free to download. This new app is expected to be beneficial for passengers who rarely use trains. Daily commuters who book tickets without reservations will also benefit from the new platform, as its interface is much simpler than the previous platform.
Get a 3% discount on unreserved tickets
To promote cashless travel and encourage passengers to switch to the new platform, Indian Railways is offering a 3% discount on unreserved tickets booked through the RailOne app. This offer is valid for a limited period from January 14 to July 14. Passengers can use UPI, debit or credit cards, net banking, and other digital wallets to avail the discount.
