Not the glamor of romance. Nor the clutches of expensive gifts. This trend is evident, at least for those looking to remarry after divorce. They are prioritizing emotional security over shiny gifts. This is known in a recent survey.

According to a survey by an app called ‘Rebound’, after a divorce or separation, most people seek not only love, but also emotional shelter. About 49 percent of Indians who participated in the survey said that they value closeness with a partner more than lavish love. The survey was conducted on 5,748 divorced, separated and at-risk individuals aged 27 to 45 years in metro and urban areas of the city.

It is clear from the study that people learn from the bitter experience of separation. Makey is not romantic, but each other’s emotional shelter is the last thing. About 90 percent of people feel that the emptiness that comes after suddenly being loved is more painful than the pain of a breakup. According to 39 percent of people, regular contact is more comforting than a big gift.

This trend is also evident in women. 44 percent of women aged 30 to 40 said that their partner’s clear understanding or clear communication about the future of the relationship is the best gift to them. On the other hand, this emotional vacuum is working not only in divorce but also in married people over forty. Another study found that 43 percent of people move away from their partner at this age. The main reason for this is the lack of opening up one’s mind.

So, in the end, one has to go back to love. Intimacy, not pomp, is the last word in a relationship. After a while all makey tendencies disappear. After that comes invincibility and final refuge. Touching that red inside the chest is a place of strange tranquility.
