Many young people today aspire to pursue careers in fields such as animation, gaming, visual effects, and digital content. However, a lack of proper guidance and industry exposure often hinders this path. In this context, the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies, launched in Mumbai, has emerged as a strong platform for young people. This institute, established under a public-private partnership model on the initiative of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, offers direct industry engagement alongside academics.

Scholarships

The institute currently offers 18 courses, covering topics such as animation, gaming, VFX, comic art, and extended reality. Course durations range from three months to two years, allowing students to choose options based on their needs and timeframe. Merit-based scholarships of 10 to 25 percent are also offered. Currently, approximately 300 students are enrolled. The institute operates from the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) Mumbai campus. Four modern floors have been developed, including smart classrooms, advanced labs, and a startup incubation center.

Internship Opportunities

The institute's specialty is its industry connections. Partnerships have been established with major companies such as Google, Meta, Microsoft, Apple, Adobe, and Nvidia. The advantage of these tie-ups is that students receive training tailored to industry needs. Additionally, internship and job opportunities may open up in the future. This means there's no need to wait long for a job after completing the course.

Opportunity to learn from experts

Teachers here are experienced in their respective fields. Professionals with expertise in animation, gaming, and post-production are training students. From time to time, renowned film and media figures like Ashutosh Gowariker, Ketan Mehta, and Rajat Kapoor also visit to mentor students. This provides students with experience in the real industry, not just bookish knowledge.

Complete Practical Training Along with Studies

Students studying here say that the institute places special emphasis on practical training along with academics. Students from various states believe that the learning here is different and more useful than at typical institutions. Thanks to the Startup Incubation Center, students who want to start their own businesses are also receiving guidance and support.
