New HPV Vaccination Drive Launched in Bharmour to Combat Cervical Cancer

A new initiative aimed at vaccinating against Human Papillomavirus (HPV) has been introduced in Bharmour to help prevent cervical cancer, a significant health issue. This campaign was officially launched at the Civil Hospital, Bharmour by Dr. Janak Raj, the MLA representing the Bharmour-Pangi constituency.


During the launch, Dr. Janak Raj highlighted that cervical cancer is mainly caused by HPV infections, which can be effectively prevented through timely vaccinations. He referred to this campaign as a vital measure for safeguarding the health of daughters and women, emphasizing that the HPV vaccine offers substantial protection against this dangerous illness.


He urged parents to ensure their eligible daughters receive the vaccine without delay, reinforcing the importance of protecting against cervical cancer in the future. Dr. Janak Raj also noted that the health of women is essential for building a robust society, and he stressed the need for community involvement in health initiatives.


At the event, Dr. Dipesh, BMO Bharmour, along with the health department team, provided insights into the campaign's structure, the vaccination process, and its advantages. It was shared that the vaccination drive will be implemented in a phased approach throughout the block to maximize the number of girls who can benefit from it.


In closing, Dr. Janak Raj expressed his appreciation to both the central and state governments, noting that such programs demonstrate the government's dedication to women's health and are expected to foster positive societal changes.
