Public sector Central Bank of India has announced recruitment for Specialist Officer posts (CBI Recruitment 2026). The application process has started from 28th February. The application fee for SC, ST, PwBD and women candidates is Rs 175. Whereas for other candidates the fee is Rs 850. Fee payment will be accepted in online mode only. The total number of vacancies is 275. There are 41 vacancies for SC, 20 for ST, 74 for OBC, 27 for EWS and 113 for General.
Who can fill the form?
Candidates having full time BE/B.Tech or MCA in Computer Science/IT/Electronics/ECI from any recognized university can fill the form. According to the concerned post, there should be 2 to 10 years of experience in the relevant field. Must also have knowledge of English or local language.
Till January 31, 2026, the maximum age limit has been fixed at 30 for Scale-1 posts, 35 years for Scale-2 and 3 and 45 years for Scale-3. SC/ST will get age relaxation of 5 years, OBC will get 3 years and PWD candidates will get 10 years of age relaxation.
selection process
Candidates will be selected for CBI SO posts on the basis of online examination and interview. Technical knowledge and professional abilities will also be deepened during the interview. The weightage of exam will be 70% and interview will be 30%. The exam will be of total 100 marks. Its duration will be 90 minutes. A total of 75 questions will be asked.
50 questions to stream/category will be asked, maximum marks will be 75 and time will be 60 minutes. 15 questions of 15 marks each to reasoning will be asked. 10 questions of 10 marks will be asked to Banking, Economics and General Awareness. Both the sections combined will give 30 minutes time. There will be no provision for negative marking.
