Taking a big decision on Holi 2026, the Madhya Pradesh government has declared March 3 as well as March 4 as public holidays. According to the notification of the General Administration Department, March 4 will be a holiday under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881.
Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh government has given great relief to the government employees and common citizens of the state on the holy festival of Holi. In addition to the already declared holiday of 03 March 2026 (Tuesday), the State Government has now declared 04 March 2026 (Wednesday) as a public and general holiday. With this decision, there will be two consecutive days holiday in the state on the occasion of Holi.

03 and 04 March 2026: All government offices will remain closed for two days.
The state government had earlier declared a holiday on March 03, 2026. Now, after March 04, 2026, is declared a holiday, government offices, many institutions and banks will remain closed. This decision has been taken in view of the Holi festival, so that people can celebrate the festival with full enthusiasm and family. In the revised notification issued by the General Administration Department, it has been said that there will be a holiday in the state on March 04, 2026 also. The state government has declared March 04 as a public holiday under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881. This means that institutions related to banking and financial transactions will also remain closed on this day.
