Scabs can now be added to the mounting list of worrying health conditions Donald Trump is currently battling.

The president appeared on Monday with dark red discolouration visible across his neck whilst attending a Medal of Honor ceremony at the White House.

He arrived more than 40 minutes behind schedule for the ceremony and was once again observed with discoloured hands as he presented awards to military personnel.

White House physician Sean Barbabella informed Mirror US, "President Trump is using a very common cream on the right side of his neck, which is a preventative skin treatment, prescribed by the White House Doctor. The President is using this treatment for one week, and the redness is expected to last for a few weeks."

The 79 year old also appeared to stumble over and slur his words whilst attempting to honour the final recipient of the ceremony. "Finally, we honor one more soldier, a fallen warria of world. Of wars," he could be heard saying as he read from a teleprompter, reports The Mirror US.

Trump has previously encountered questions regarding his health due to severe bruising on his hands and what seemed to be an attempt to conceal it with cosmetics during a televised meeting with Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky in December.

The White House has repeatedly brushed aside concerns about the president's health. Press secretary Karoline Leavitt has previously stated Trump's hand bruising stems from "consistent" irritation resulting from "frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin."

Several months ago, the president was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency.

"Look, you see the president every day," Leavitt previously told reporters. "He's moving, he's working. There have been no adjustments made to his lifestyle."

On Monday, Trump departed the ceremony abruptly without addressing journalists' questions. At various points, he strayed from the subject matter, pausing to discuss his contentious ballroom development that will alter the White House's configuration.

"See that nice drape? When that comes down right now you see a very very deep hole, but in about a year and half you're gonna see a very very beautiful building," Trump said. "And there's your entrance to it right there. In fact, it looks so nice I think I'll leave it and save money on the doors. I picked those drapes. I always liked gold. I believe it will be the most beautiful ballroom anywhere in the world."

He additionally remarked on American-Israeli military action against Iran which resulted in the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The Trump administration indicated on Monday that it anticipates the confrontation will continue for weeks, with Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth stating at a press briefing that "Operation Epic Fury" would conclude within weeks.

Trump seemed to diverge from Hegseth's assessment, suggesting the US stands prepared to "do whatever.

"We have right from the beginning projected four to five weeks, but we have capability to go far longer than that," he said. "We'll do whatever. Somebody said, 'the president will get bored.' I don't get bored. There's nothing boring about this."
