An explosion has been reported in Larnaca, Cyprus, this evening, following an earlier drone attack on the island's RAF Akrotiri base.
The source of the blast has not yet been established and no casualties have been reported. It comes as Iran and its proxies continue to strike targets across the Middle East in retaliation for the US and Israeli military campaign against Tehran.
A number of flights to and from Cyprus have already been cancelled as the situation develops. Three communities on the island were earlier placed under "home confinement" orders in response to the threat of further attacks from Iranian forces and allied groups.
