Chandra Grahan Kab Lgega: Today the first lunar eclipse of the year 2026 is taking place. In Hindu religion, lunar eclipse is not only considered an astronomical event but also important from religious point of view. When the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon and its shadow falls on the Moon, then a lunar eclipse occurs. During this time, the color of the moon appears light red or copper, hence it is also called ‘blood moon’.

According to the Panchang, this eclipse is taking place in Leo and Purva Phalguni Nakshatra. According to Indian time, the eclipse will start at 3:20 pm, but the Moon will not be visible in India at that time. The moon will rise in India around 6:26 to 6:32 pm and at the same time the last phase of the eclipse will be going on. The eclipse will end around 6:46 to 6:47 pm. That means in India this lunar eclipse will be visible only for 15 to 20 minutes.
