Are Dubai Airports open today? Check the latest update on flight operations here
ET Online | March 3, 2026 2:19 PM CST

Synopsis

Dubai's airports, DXB and DWC, have resumed limited operations following nearly 48 hours of shutdown due to Middle East tensions. Passengers are urged to confirm flight status directly with airlines before traveling, as most schedules remain subject to rapid change.

Dubai’s two major international hubs, Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Dubai World Central (DWC), resumed limited operations on March 2, but travellers are urged to exercise extreme caution and check flight status before travelling.

The resumption comes after nearly 48 hours of shutdowns triggered by escalating tensions in the Middle East linked to the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel. The unrest forced regional airspace closures, affecting civilian flight corridors through the Gulf and leaving major transit airports, including Dubai, largely inactive over the weekend.

No clarity on full reopening today

Dubai Airports announced about limited flight operations resumption on March 2, with only a handful of services departing from DXB and DWC.

Authorities have advised passengers not to go to the airport unless their airline has confirmed a specific departure time, as schedules continue to remain fluid. Travellers who have received confirmation are also urged to verify their designated terminal before heading out.

For real-time updates, passengers should check their airline’s official website or mobile app and wait for direct communication regarding any changes.

Limited service by Emirates, Etihad

Operators such as Emirates and Etihad are allowing travel on select flights where passengers have been individually contacted. Most schedules remain subject to rapid change, with authorities emphasising that the situation could evolve quickly.

Emirates said it will run only a selected number of flights amid continuing disruption caused by regional airspace closures. The airline will contact passengers who have been rebooked on these limited services directly. Travellers are strongly advised not to travel to the airport unless they have received explicit confirmation of their flight details.

Air India and IndiGo keep operations suspended

Air India has extended the temporary suspension of all flights to and from the Middle East region, including the UAE, through March 3 due to ongoing airspace closures and safety concerns. While Air India continues scheduled flights to North America and Europe where possible, services involving Gulf airspace remain halted until at least midnight tonight (IST).

IndiGo has announced four dedicated flights from Jeddah on March 3 to key Indian cities including Mumbai, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad as part of a phased return of services. The airline is also monitoring conditions and may adjust flight plans as airspace situations evolve.
