New Delhi: The Bugatti Mistral, the world’s fastest convertible car, officially, having gone at 453 kph in 2024, now has a one-off that is even more special. Impossible as it may be, there is a Mistral ‘La Perle Rare’, and as with every one of the Bugattis made, it’s being coined a ‘one-of-a-kind’ conceived in 2023 when Bugatti met the owner of this car, and after a few back and forths, they have the car ready.
Bugatti have said that it is to be a “fitting, pearlescent tribute to the elemental power and beauty of the W16 Mistral”. An 8.0-litre W16 engine at the bay, Mistral, of course, needs to be spoken about a little. For this edition, it gets a two-tone finish with varying shades of white and is layered with metallic flakes. After that, the gold diving lines were hand-painted onto the Mistral’s carbon fibre body panels, while the diamond-cut alloys were covered with a ‘special curated paint mixture’ as well.

Inside Bugatti Mistral ‘La Perle Rare’ continues the opulence from outside
For a car of this stature, it is, of course, the inside of the cabin that gets even more special attention to detail. It comes with carbon fibre components that are painted white, making for a bright, jewel-like environment that echoes the themes from the exterior. Gold accents trace the sculptural door panels and interior curves, while polished aluminium elements add a refined metallic contrast.
There is also a nod to the brand’s heritage with an iconic Dancing Elephant, taking cues from the Rembrandt Bugatti and integrated into select design elements. As one of the models that comes with the W16 engine, this carries the amazing brand of hypercars that the brand is known for making. Perhaps it is the final sample of Bugatti making machines of what is possible in terms of engineering.
