T20 WC 2026: In the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, all the group stage and Super-8 matches are over, now only 3 matches are left. Preparations for the semi-final match have now started.

The teams of India, New Zealand, South Africa and England have now intensified their preparations for the semi-finals. All these teams have a golden opportunity to lift the trophy. However, if rain disrupts the match, the problems for the fans may increase. In such a situation, everyone wants to know that if rain tries to spoil the match, then which team will benefit and if not, is there a reserve day for the semi-finals and final or not?

T20 WC 2026: Will there be a reserve day in the semi-finals?

ICC has kept reserve day for both the semi-final matches. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the current weather in India. However, as per ICC rules, efforts will be made to finish the match within the stipulated time, even if some overs have to be reduced.

T20 WC 2026: Extra time even in reserve day

ICC has also given extra time to complete the match. There will be 90 minutes of extra time on the match day and 120 minutes of extra time on the reserve day. To get the result of the match, both the teams will have to bat for at least 10 overs. If it rains in the middle of the match, the match will be started from the same over the next day. Both the semi-final matches will be played from 7 pm. The match will start at 3 pm on the reserve day.

What does ICC rule say about reserve day?

If the match goes on reserve day, two situations can happen. If some overs have been bowled on the first match day, play will start from there on the reserve day. If there are less overs on match day, the situation will remain the same the next day also. However, if not a single ball can be bowled on the match day, then only 20-20 overs matches will be played on the reserve day. ICC is currently focusing on getting results only. So that the fans do not have to return disappointed.
