CBSE board exams 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations to be held in select countries of the Middle East to March 5 and 6, 2026. This decision has been taken after serious review of the current conditions of the area. The board has made it clear that this step has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the students and smooth conduct of examinations.

CBSE has sent official notice to the principals of its affiliated schools located in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. It has been said that the examinations to be held on March 5 and 6 will no longer be held on the scheduled dates. New exam dates will be announced later. The board also said that the situation in the area will be reviewed again on March 5 and an appropriate decision will be taken regarding the examinations scheduled from March 7.

Exams were postponed earlier also

It is noteworthy that earlier on March 1, CBSE had also postponed the examinations scheduled for March 2 and 3, 2026. At that time the board had said that it would look at the situation on March 3 and take a decision on further examinations. After this review, now the examinations of 5th and 6th March have also been postponed.

Important instructions for students

CBSE has advised students to stay in touch with their respective schools and rely only on official information. The board also clarified that this decision is applicable only for the Middle-East region.

Earlier, a fake circular had gone viral on social media, in which it was claimed that the examinations were completely canceled due to ‘extraordinary global circumstances’. The board rejected it as completely fabricated and appealed to the students and parents to believe only the information released through the CBSE official website and schools.

According to the latest update, CBSE may issue a new notification after looking at the circumstances on March 7. In such a situation, students and parents are waiting for the next official announcement, so that they can ensure their preparation as per the revised exam schedule.
