IndiGo has announced the launch of non-stop, thrice-weekly flights between Chennai and Réunion Island, effective April 29, 2026.
The airline will operate the route using its Airbus A320 aircraft. With this addition, Réunion Island becomes IndiGo’s 46th international destination and its 13th from Chennai, which the airline described as a key gateway in South India.
IndiGo said bookings are available through its official website, mobile application, and authorised travel partners.
Located between Madagascar and Mauritius, Réunion Island is known for its volcanic landscapes and UNESCO World Heritage-listed natural sites such as the Piton de la Fournaise. The island has a multicultural society influenced by African, European, Indian and Asian communities and is home to a significant Indian diaspora.
The airline said the destination is expected to attract Indian outbound travellers, including leisure tourists, honeymooners, adventure seekers, nature enthusiasts and MICE groups.
Mr. Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, said the new route will offer travellers convenience and an immersive experience combining French and tropical island elements.
