Netflix subscribers have mere weeks remaining to watch a "timeless" crime drama hailed as the "best show ever" before it disappears from the platform.

Dexter has secured its place as a viewer favourite since its debut in 2006. Running for eight seasons, it chronicles the journey of a concealed serial killer maintaining a dual existence as a police analyst.

Following its initial broadcast, the programme has grown to include a limited series alongside a prequel, both proving hugely successful with audiences.

Presently, all eight seasons remain accessible on Netflix, though time is running out. The streaming service has announced the programme will depart its catalogue later this month, with March 30 marking the final opportunity to view it, reports the Mirror.

On Reddit, numerous viewers expressed their disappointment at the news. One person wrote: "Of course it leaves right when I was thinking 'Eh I'll rewatch it soon.' Guess it's time for a last-minute binge before March 30. Classic Dexter disappearing without warning."

Another said: "Netflix is losing all of its good shows." A third replied: "Funnily the only reason I've gave it another chance is because it was on Netflix. Went to being my top 3 TV shows ever."

A fourth added: "Please be kidding me man, I'm watching the show with my mom and we just finished season 5."

"This series takes ordinary good vs bad and turns it on its head to create a unique spin on storytelling. This is my favourite series of all series'."

Someone else observed: "As this is the first time (2025) I'm watching Dexter I would say it's both a timeless series while it still evokes nostalgia for the time before the world was swamped by social media.""
