Former Indian Opener Flags The Weakness in the Indian Bowling Attack Ahead of the Semi-final Clash

India is gearing up for their toughest challenge as they will face England in the second semi-final clash at the Wankhede Stadium on March 5. However, there are still some flaws the Indian team needs to address and rectify before going all in this high-stakes match. Addressing this issue, the former Indian player turned commentator, Aakash Chopra, mentioned the bowling factor that might play a crucial role against England.

Aakash Chopra clearly stated that this Indian bowling attack is decent but not potentially lethal to harm the England batting attack. Considering the fast-paced surface of Wankhede Stadium, it will be vital for Suryakumar Yadav to utilize the bowlers to their best capacity.

In a video shared by Aakash Chopra on his YouTube channel, Chopra was asked if India’s bowling is strong enough to take on England, considering Hardik Pandya bowls only one length, Arshdeep Singh has been inconsistent in his death over spells, Varun Chakravarthy doesn’t remain in his peak every time, and Axar Patel remains underutilized as always.

Aakash Chopra shared his opinion and stated:

"The bowling is decent. Is it our stronger suit? It's not at this point in time. However, I won't call it weak if some team has a bank of eight overs. I know Varun Chakaravarthy has been slightly weak, but he is still a very, very good bowler. Bumrah's four overs and his four overs, and if we remove Arshdeep Singh's one over, where he conceded 24 runs, Arshdeep has also done very, very well.”

"He is a wicket-taker with the new ball, and, with the old ball, he has executed the yorkers by coming around the stumps. Hardik Pandya needs to be used properly. Hardik Pandya is either a good bowler or can become very ordinary if you bowl all his overs after the powerplay and you keep his two or three overs after the 10th over. Axar Patel is also a very reasonable bowler. So I don't think our bowling is very weak.”

Considering how normal the Indian bowling lineup has been throughout this tournament, India will need to optimize their bowlers and opt for a good strategy. Hardik Pandya has bowled 25 overs in 7 matches so far and has taken just 6 wickets at a bowling economy of 8.68. If Hardik can sneak in the powerplay and build some pressure on the English opener, it can really prove to be a vital move for the team.
