Thierry Henry believes the Carabao Cup final could determine who wins the Premier League this season. Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola will lock horns at Wembley Stadium later this month as they each look to get their hands on a piece of silverware.
Until then, Manchester City will look to knock Arsenal off their perch at the top of the table. The Gunners face Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Wednesday night before welcoming Everton to the Emirates Stadium just under two weeks later.
Meanwhile, the Citizens will host Nottingham Forest at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday evening before heading to the capital to play West Ham at the London Stadium. Although Arsenal are currently five points clear in first place, Manchester City have a game in hand.

Guardiola's side will be looking to pile on the pressure and lay down a marker at Wembley in a few weeks. While the Citizens may fancy their chances, Henry believes a defeat in the Carabao Cup final could significantly dent their confidence in their ability to catch the Gunners.

In an interview with Betway, the Arsenal legend said: "There are a lot of scenarios that you can talk about. I can say that if Arsenal beat City, we won’t see City in the race any more. Then you can say that if City lose, they will be upset and go on a run.
"First and foremost, a trophy is at stake. We all know that we’ve needed one for a very long time. City are not in need of trophies, but we know that they like to eat. When they’re at the table, they want to be served.
"So it’s huge. It will have an impact on the title race. When you see the other team celebrating, it’s going to affect you. If either team wins all their games in the title race, they will win the league, and that’s the race that everyone wanted.
"Because of that situation, a lot of people are going to watch that final and see if they can spot who is going to collapse. But that final is not going to be the end of the season, and these teams could also meet in the Champions League.
"It’s going to be a battle, and it is huge."
On whether Manchester City could win each of their last 10 games and clinch the title, Henry said: "They are capable. The personnel is not the same, but the manager is the same and with the way they played at the weekend, you can see that they want it.
"If you drop points, they are going to smell blood. As long as Arsenal don’t cross the line, people are not going to believe that we can. Unfortunately for us, we were once ahead and we got caught.
"But now you have the opportunity to change the story of what people think of you."
