The Disciplinary Committee of All India Football Federation i.e. AIFF has fined Mohun Bagan Super Giants due to poor behavior of spectators in the last match of the Indian Super League. The committee has ordered that this team will have to play the next match against Odisha FC in an empty stadium. Admitting its mistake, the club has accepted the fine. Mohun Bagan's appeal against the ban on spectators for the match to be held on March 6 at the Salt Lake Stadium has also been rejected. However, the amount of fine imposed on Mohun Bagan has not been disclosed.

Mohun Bagan itself told what punishment it received?

Mohun Bagan said in a post on AIFF has taken a tough decision by ordering complete closure of the stadium for our home match against Odisha FC on March 6. Let us tell you that Mohun Bagan had defeated Chennaiyin FC 2-0 in the match played on 23 February. The spectators misbehaved during this match.

Mohun Bagan expressed disappointment

Mohun Bagan said that they are extremely disappointed with the disciplinary committee's decision to completely close the stadium for the home match to be held on March 6. The club said its appeal to reconsider the ban was in the best interests of the fans, but it has not been accepted. Let us tell you that Mohun Bagan fans have misbehaved for the second time within a year, due to which such a huge fine has been imposed on the club. Even in the 2024-25 season, Mohun Bagan had to play matches in a closed stadium. AIFF informed that the committee decided to impose the fine after the official report and a separate complaint made by Bengaluru FC.
